New dizzy cap now wont start !
Hi guys,
Last night i fitted a new dizzy cap and rotor arm to my friends 1989 2.8 V6 Firebird, then it wouldnt start, we checked and rechecked the plug wires and according to his manual it was all correct.
I even held the new dizzy cap side by side with the old one and transferred the plug wires one by one.
We then put the old dizzy cap and rotor arm back on and it still wouldnt start ! it just cranks constantly without even attempting to fire.
After googling the firing order there seems to be a few different variations with V6 engines which isnt helping. Does anyone have the definitive firing order for this engine ?

It's easy for the 60* V6's: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6
#1 being the right hand cylinder head (drivers side for those in the UK).

They are still left hand drive though as we dont have to convert them to right hand drive thankfully, id hate that with having a KITT replica, the dash would look all wrong.
Anyway, this is all sorted now, somehow each plug lead was exactly one terminal out ! so all leads swapped around and it started right up
