Transmission question, wrong board i know

I already asked this in the transmission board, and only got one answer. I have a 91 bird,auto,3.1 liter. The car just rolled 100,00 miles. For about two weeks or so i have been hearing this little grinding noise when the T.C. re-engages quickly after being dis-engaged. The performance is fine, shifts nice and firm and the converter kicks in and out like it should. And i only hear the noise about every five time. My T.C. works alot iin this suburb traffic nightmare. What if i just unhooked it? Any ideas? If this get locked or moved, fine, but i already posted elsewhere and no one knew.

If your car just crossed 100,000 your tranny is probably running on borrowed time if its original. Don't do any neutral drops, or manual shifting and it'll last longer. Make sure the fluid is clean and filled to the correct amount. If you haven't changed the fluid and filter in the last 30,000 miles it might not be a bad idea.

For reference the 4L60 in my Formula has made funny noises since the car had 90,000 miles on it, its at 114,000 hard miles now and still the tranny works fine.
