275k Miles. What could good wrong?

3.1L 92 Firebird with 275k miles. I want to make an 800 mile trip (1600 total) and I'm wondering what could go wrong?

Original engine and transmission with no work ever done to either. The fuel pump finally died recently after 270k miles. Alternator, water pump, and radiator were replaced with the last year. Otherwise, no major work. I feel like I'm driving a ticking time bomb. So, what could ruin my trip? How should I prepare?

First thing that comes to my mind is timing chain, esp. with such a high mileage car. Hoping your trip doesn't go out in a Blaze of Glory if you're really worried about breaking down get the car looked over

I forgot to mention that one. I replaced the timing chain at about 150k miles.

How about fuel injectors? 275k is a LOT If they're originals, but can be checked easily

Timing chain is still too old ! At least it's not as old as it could be. Tbh anything could go wrong on any of these old cars , don't worry just drove it and see what happens , you'll probably be fine 😎

New injectors were installed at 135k.

I just feel like I'm on borrowed time with the ol'bird. But seeing as I don't have a crystal ball, I think I just need to go for it.

She's taken you 275,000 already, I'm sure she's up for another 1,600! Best of luck!

IF anything does go wrong, I'm sure it will be minor. Something stupid like a starter or a sensor going out.

I ran my turbo 3.1l two quarts low on oil one night when I was doing some "hard" driving on Woodward. Still together with no issues... lol 140k miles
