does a V6 chirp in 2nd (spin tires)

ok can someone tell me .... if u have a modded v6 / stock v6
then u installed a shift kit (or w/o the shif kit)

can it possibly chirp from 1-2 gear shift????

cos i hear so many ppl saying this is possible ... but never seen one

ok monkie ,

1. on pavement.... my car will spin like mad in 1st and give a chirp when i go into 2 ... that was when i had a pair of michelins in the back now after the BFG's it doesnt spin but catches the road like a damn slick....

2. if it rains man the car is crazy even in 2-3 shift

3. looks like i have a clutch slip somewhere

4. im trying to see if the B&M would make it better

back home .... dont laugh at me

my buddy owns a lotus caterham ... the way i could spin tires on that machine ... ive never seen even a trans am do it
(that car weighs only like 800kgs)
(its got a rover 4 with a weber carb)
i was thinkin maybe the camaro could do something like that

If you got the original 15" wheels what kinda tires do you have that hook up so well? I think I got decent tires on mine (dont know the name but they feel sticky) and I still spin like mad.

ok its BFGoodrich Excentia GTs

its better than the Goodyear Conquest and Mich. Pilot that i had before

its not a slick though

i can spin it up ... but not everywhere ... not on every road...

someroads i can spin till my back goes outta control and catches up later...
(got a cop warning for that stunt i pulled out to kill a ***** )
man u shouldve seen the look on his face... a tweaked out eclipse (CAI and other stuff)

he thought i was a regular v6 and wanted to kill me too bad for him

have u killed some imports with ur RS (not ur z28) ur Z can kill just about anything on the road

stock for stock I used to could beat that damn integra but now that he has mods and I havent had a tune up LOL he can beat me. I raped the **** outta my friend's civic though. He knew it was coming tho. But thats about it. I beat two thunderbirds tho. Whats your kills?

It's your tires. They are grabing the road nicely!

With my POS tires I can spin 1st - 2nd and chirp 3rd. It's impresive to my buddys, but I hate it. It takes to long to get going once I romp on it.

well i have killed a couple of civics (one wanted to see who went topspeed ... man what was he thinking anyway)

and ive also killed a integra ... the bsae model is not very fast

the problem is ... not many ricers wanna race me cos i have a dualtip on both sides of my exhaust ... which tells those guys somehitng.... and i have a dual gauge pod ... thats where some stock guys get scared off

ive had a couple of guys even ask me what am i runnning ( they think its v8)

i got killed trying to beat a mustang cobra (i donno what was running in my head when i tried to race that dood)

well my best was when i was racing this prelude his car stalled in the start...man that was funny

whats the max rpm u hit with the 3.1 u have

i have almost stopped stoplight races after i got a ticket !!!!!!!

Yea I tried to race a NICE looking stock Fox body Cobra. Man that thing was sweet. I just reved and he reved. His only sounded 5 times better but at the light he was like "what have you got? A 5.0?" And I said "No its a 350" (dont ask me why I said that!) and I asked him what he had and he said "its just a 5.0." And I was like "nice" and he took off from the line and I just granny left the line so I didnt let him know what I had. hehe I was a retard huh? <--- edit: I was in the RS

The max rpm I have reached is 5500 or so. I never went to complete redline. I see no need to rev it that high seeing how one, we make all the power in lower rpms and two, because the engines rev so fast that you couldnt tell the difference between 4500 and 5500. Oh yea and about the ticket thing. Yea....77 in a 50 right here . Next ticket and my insurance goes up 40%

my buddy got a 75 in a 55

but mine was a mess ... the cop was gonna give me a couple of tickets ....

finally he made up his mind on one .... no passing zone violation
(he forgot about the speeding)

and the v6 stang (i was racing with)also got a ticket ...i donno what ... but i dint wanna go over and ask him ... he looked mad

and yeah i did the same to a TBird once ... he went shooting like a rocket...(he was full of mods) but .... behind him went a cop in a CAMARO man i was lucky i dint shoot as well

Yea we have a few Camaro cops here. Actually it has gotten down to only two. Both of which I know very well. One has the blue two stripes going down the side. He is easy to pick out. But the other one which lives 3 houses from me is silver with nothing on it but two hanging strobe like lights hanging in the back window. That beyatch is stealthy. They are both Z28s and have something done to them that the state does (neither will tell me what) And both have the Z28 emblems shaved off. They tried to make them look like V6's he said but they missed one thing that all F-body guys would notice right away the pancake tail pipes. They both are cool guys and the plain silver one has seen me speeding many times but has never pulled me over he is just so hard to spot! I tried to get him to race me in my Z but he always says no. Go figure

i looked liek crazy for that pancake tips .... couldnt find one ... they are made of pure aluminium (beleive it or not)

i finally ended up with the dual tips on both sides .... some SS's here have them...

the cop camaro is red and urr right all shaved off emblems and u can only dist him by the strobe lights and th officer in there with the hat

man i never had the guts to ask him to race me

and i wish i had a Z28 sometimes..

When I had my old Firestone SH30's 205/60/15 ont the rear I could Spin 1st, Chirp 2nd HARD and even get a eerp outta 3rd.

WAIT! If your transmission is in poor shape, a shift kit will worsen the trans!!

Also- you already bought the transpak? You might want to return it, for two reasons.

1: Most people prefer the TransGo shift kit. The TransGo is supposed to be designed much better than the B&M... and is probably why it's about $120 as opposed to B&M's $25 Shift Improver Kit (which I have).

2: The TransPak is the same thing for a 700r4 as the B&M Shift Improver kit. The only thing you're paying extra for in the TransPak is a transmission filter! The directions for both kits (for the 700r4) are exactly the same.

I didn't know about the TransGo vs B&M difference back when I installed my Shift Improver Kit (1997). I'll have to put the TransGo in one day. The 1-2 shift feels strong enough to chirp, but, I have P275/60r15 rear tires (on 15x8 wheels) with a 3.73/posi/disc rear, and they don't lose traction. A thinner (or stock) tire probably would. But, I do have the 4-3 kickdown valve- and man, it's a great mod; you'll love it. Think about adding a trans cooler when you put the shift kit in.

I have a '92 Camaro RS V6 3.1L . I given a few friends a ride in it and they didn't know it was V6. Once they found out they would tell me I should put a 350 in it, but I like it to much. All though I am thinking about droping a 3.4 in it sence it has high miles on it (173,500). It's starting to get a little tempermental at times, Hard start first thing in the morning, leaks like a sive even though I keep tracking leaks down and fixing them. I think I may be leaking from the rear main seal.

I may start a new project that will take time away from my '92. I'm thinking about doing a frame off restore and hot rodded '32 ford duce 3 window.



Curent mods.
---
Custom made 2.5" cat back with high flow cat and Flowmaster 80 series muf.

Accel Supper coil w/ 8.5 wires.

Rebuilt distributor w/ Holly high engery ignition mod.

Dual snorkle conversion w/ K&N air filters and bottom of boxes cut.

Bypassed throtle body coolent lines.


Mods. to come in the future.
---
Custom "Y" pipe.

Ported intake and heads.

Better cam

swap the rear for a limited slip and rear disk brakes from a 4th gen.

Maybe a six speed tranny.

converting a 2.8 to 3.4 is a huge mess...

ud have to get a stroker kit to 3.1 and whatever u go from there is upto u... 3.4 is not achievable w/o a block cjhange ... mine is overbord to the point where walls are very thin

dont overbore ... all it makes is heat... u get tghe power ok... but ull be runnign hot unless u have a lower thermostat...

and there are problems associated with thermostat

so just find a 3.4 and drop it in....

i love my v6 and would like to keep it

i was just waitn to hear from someone with a v6 and a shift kit

man... and i do have the B&M shift improver kit ... i also happen to have the filter ...( i dndt buy the transpak as one thanx for the advice anyway)

u say ur 2.8 chirps... what else do u have there corette servo...
??


i know the kickdown ikit is what i neeed too i dnt have the $$$ for that now...

and how much didya pay to get tge shift kit installed... i dont wanna work out in winter ... its cold

my clutch plate might not be slipping ... my computer might also be the problem due to all tghe mods
