V6 2.8 1989 Starting Issues in heat
Hey! I'm getting heat soak issues. Cars running fine until it gets hot out, then after a 20+ Min drive I find it hard to start again. No start, no clicks, just gauges max out and no start.
After reading some forums i've found that our Camaros have starting issues due to the exhaust being so close to the starter.
Do the Corvette starters work with the Stick Shift V6' as well? (ive read they work well)
Getting frustrated with my car. Rebuild engine from the head up, new suspension, new gas tank/fuel pump...drives amazing when its on, just getting it on now is a issue
Please help

I cannot comment on the Corvette starter but if it is starter heat soak, and it sounds like it is, just wrap it with reflective insulation or install a heat shield. You could wrap the exhaust where it passes by as well if needed.
If you use a different starter it will do the same thing unless its significantly smaller or otherwise further from the exhaust in some fashion.

I dealt with this issue for quite a while. I tried a remote mounted ford starter solenoid but same thing. So I simply installed a push button starter switch. Fixed my problem.
