Hybrid

I have an 89 2.8l and also have a 3400 long block, from what I understand a head swap can be done? I'm a little confused on what all I need for it, can someone clarify?

Re: Hybrid

There's a ton of threads on this, as well as a sticky at the top. Long story short though, most people will take the 3.4 RWD block and swap a 3400 FWD top end on to that. You can't use a 3400 block in a RWD car. There is more to it though, read the sticky and then search on 3.4/3400 hybrid and you'll find what you need to know. I think someone was working on a 2.8/3400 hybrid a while back, maybe search on that one too. You'll need to be able to fabricate some parts, I think a crank sensor mount, throttle cable bracket, some others. It's been a long time since I last looked into it.
