Hello all,

I have an 86 firebird that starts runs and drives great, not a thing wrong with the car, 76,000 miles. After driving it for an hour the service engine soon light will come on and stay on. If I shut off the car and start it back up the light doesn't come on for another 20-30 minutes. No other lights are coming on. I have tried the paperclip trick and it gives me a code 24, keep in mind this is when the car thinks there is nothing wrong with it. Spedometer still works normally as with everything else when light is on. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

 

i thought when the system had no faults, it would false 12 not 24

 

It is giving me a 24 but when I start it the ses light goes away.
