AIR Pump Delete

So i just took my car out of storage after 14 years. No joke, it started on the first try and i was able to drive it home. After i got home i was looking over the car to see what work id want to get done sooner than later. I noticed the air pump not only didnt have a belt running to it but was completely seized. Since my state doesnt have emissions testing i was wondering if i would just remove it all together or if it actually served a necessary purpose. The car is a carbureted 2.8. I plan on modding this car a lot so the less extra crap the better. Thanks

If its already running a shorter belt, that's most of the delete done already. You can unbolt it from the block no problem. Not sure if the exhaust side of the pump is any different on a carbed 2.8 over my EFI 3.1, but I was even able to get away with plugging the tube that comes out of the exhaust manifold and into the back of the pump with a bolt 😂 daily drive the car, have had 0 problems with the whole delete in the 4 months I've been running without it now.
