smog pump pulley delete
I just have a question about the smog pump. Since the headers I have don't have air attachments, is a new pump delete pulley necessary or can i just take out the pump and belt out? I see hawks sells one.

Re: smog pump pulley delete
there is a A.I.R./ smog pump removal article on this forum . check the tech articles . requires just removal of items , different belt , different belt routing . works great , i did mine several years ago . never a problem . good luck .

It really is that simple. Just make sure to double check when you are done that everything is rotating the correct way.

Very easy to do. Did mine two years ago. The belt will be a little shorter. If you need a dayco # let me know assuming you have air conditioning. The routing of the belt is different, but straight forward.

Here is my setup without the smog pump and without the delete pulley. The Dayco part # is 5060970 for that setup. I believe if you use the delete pulley then it should take the stock belt. Not sure on that one. Been two years since i did this, lol!!!

Hey two years sounds good to me. That means no problems! Yeah I have a no belt on my ac right now. So should I just buy the belt with the number you provided me or do I need another one because my AC isn't hooked up? thanks guys. can't wait to get this done.

Re: smog pump pulley delete
Not sure how you would run the belt if you have no a/c hooked up. It obviously would be considerably smaller and I would place a delete pulley in place of the a/c.
Here is a very very crude drawing of the setup i have. It is in Word format.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!
