Car starts and Idols and starts a high idols but if you give it gas it dies I’ve replaced the Maf then it won’t turn over at all so I put the old maf back in. It’s sat for about 3yrs used to be my daily for about 4 years. Any advice it’s the 89rs 2.8l 5speed

Was the gas treated with fuel stabilizer? New fuel now ? Fuel pressure reading?

no gas treatment did put new 5 gals in I’ll have to get a tool to check the pressure after I get my wisdom teeth out

I have the same problem. My car sat for a couple of years because it needed a battery. I had just replaced the ignition control module. I pumped out the old gasoline, replaced the fuel filter, put in some new gas and added sea foam. This didn't help.
My car idles fine but it is a bit fast. When I try to drive it and give it some gas it backfires and falls on it's face. I drove it around the block but I couldn't drive it fast because it might stall.
Any ideas? There are no engine trouble codes.
Also sometimes the tachometer needle bounces all around.
