Anyone ran no muffler on V6?

hey guys...i was just reading a post on the exhaust forum about running with no muffler. (but keeping the cat and pipes) anyways, a lot of people were saying it sounds pretty good, and i was wondering if any of them might have had a V6. So has anyone here tryed running no muffler with a V6? I don't wanna hear about how great the dynomax is or how it would affect power, i just wanna know about sound. thanks

Well.. I have...

It does sound pretty good... I took my cat-back off the other week and ran it like that... it was loud as hell in the car, but didn't really sound louder outside... the reason for this is one of my tailpipes fell off on my crossflow muffler so it's alreasdy loud...

So yes, it's loud, and if you don't run pipes to the end of the car, it's defaning inside the car... probably equivalent to dumps...

I rode in a 95 cam with the 3.4 with the high flow cat and no muffler.. the damn thing sounded like a 5.7 with some serious *****!. Spit on the rev down roared on the rev up. Noticable change inside noise though.

If you keep the cat on it sounds pretty mean BUT if you take the cat of IMO it is EXTREMLY loud and my ears where ringing in 2 minutes then I noticed the state trooper (camaro cop) behind me with his lights on.... He just told me he heard it a half mile down the road and thought it was pretty cool but is broke some serious "nosie laws" and that I may want to bolt it back up.

maybe you should....post your own topic! just kidding. there are tons of posts out there about ditching the CC or running a pipe through it etc etc..but i would think this only make it louder inside the car since it is right under the passenger compartment. maybe check for leaks or find better tail pipe placement? anyways i have a flowmaster and dont particularly care for it. and once more...dont tell me "try dynomax"..im not looking for a new muffler. thanks

I ran like that with no cat when my I pipe cracked in half so I took it and the muffler off. Everyone at school thought I dropped like a 400 in it. I pulled up to my friends 00 TA and reved mine and he was like what the hell. whatever u put in that I'm not racing it. it did get annoying though and I even got pulled over and the cop didnt notice it. what a dumb Sh*t.

Yeah- anyone ever heard of or used an exhaust cut-out? My dad told me about how he and all his friends made them. It's just a cast iron valve thingy you weld in right after the CC. You pull on a choke cable and the valve opens up, letting all the exhaust right out and bypassing the rest of the exhaust. I've seen it in a catalog for only $22, seems kinda cool if you ask me. Anyone try this?

My left hand pipe broke off of my cross-flow muffler and it sounds really good like that
