Wooo Hooooooooooooo Cars up and Running...

Seems like I've been without it forever. Anywayz

I the distributor ring, and shaft were both cracked.
Lovely huh?

Anywayz, I had them replace it with MSD stuff.

It is so nice to be able to drive her again. Now I gotta replace the damn front brake pads. (right one is screeching like a bitch)

Total came out to about $415.00, not to bad considering it was the dealer...

With all the tuneup stuff I did, the car definatelly feels like it's running better.

Well thanks for all the help guys, if you have any other questions please ask...

Explain what this "Cracked" distb shaft looks like"
I am just having a trouble visualizing what this crack looks like & how it "cracked".
Having rebuilt my distributor, I "feel" it's almost next to impossible for the "shaft" to crack.

Can you or somemone else explain this better to me?

Meaning, what causes this to occur?
Glad you're enjoying your ride again. Now, off to the susnet!

Well, that is what the guys at the shop told me.

I was out looking at it, and I don't see and cracks, or anything like that. MAybe it's a term they use to refer to somting else.

I'm gonna take it to one of my mechanic friends at Carquest and see if finds anything wrong with it.

But the ring on the distributor, looks like it's in really bad shape.

I'll see if I can get some pics so I can show ya.

Believe me, I'm just glad is working again...

I think the "ring" is probably the pick-up coil... it looks whiteish/yellowish/brownish, and with tape peeling off it, with two wires coming out of it and going to a black spark module? I don't see how the shaft could've cracked either; they must've been talking about something else.

That's the thing...

Why would they have needed to replace?
