Sorry its a ford, but my buddy gots a 75 mecury montego with a 460ci engine in it. The body is totally rusted out and he wants a new car cause it needs a new radiator and is sick of the car. A guy a muffler shop told use that the engine is probly worth some money cause some guys use the engine for drag racing or somthing. But anyways I might take the car off his hands if the engine is worth something. And no its not touching my firebird. I figure i might be able to make some money off it. What u guys think.

Ford motors are so expensive to buy parts for.
meaning check out the price for the aluminum version of that boat anchor cast iron almost entire top end of the engine manifold.
PS got a back brace when ya lift that intake?

It's not a drag racing engine, it's known for torque. It'll take someone else's $$$ to make it a real high rpm, runner.

Yeah, He told me he would sell it to me for $25 bucks when he gets a new car. He saying he wants the dealer to take it, but hell they wont give him anymoney for it anyways. The engine tranny are in good condtion and the guages are mint. You think I could donate it with it not having a engine. If i donate it the government will give me $750bucks lol.

 

Get a junk engine in parts, throw it under the hood.
Replace the rear
Take disc brake set up & power booster, too.
Make easy money!

 

buy the damn car, sell the engine to someone who's fixing up a 64 1/2-73 mustang. I know it WILL fit in the 69-73 cars. sell the tranny w/it. use money to buy me a motor , no, pay off some bills or do more mods to your car.

 

Yes... The guy who bought my wifes 77 buick eletrca bought it for the turbo tranny and 406CI engine... He was going to sell the sheel to someone, he just wanted the 406 with 70,000 original miles..
