Doesn't concern 3rd Gen FBody But Help me!

My dad has a 90 Mercury Topaz, 2.3 Liter 4 cylinder. I have a Camaro thats why I am at this site. He isn't getting any fire. The coil's good cuz we did a coil test. Why isn't it getting any fire? The battery isn't dead

There is no fire from anywhere, The coil and the distributor are new and there is no spark.

Sorry i read it wrong. My bad. Do you have current going into the ignition modulator?. If so is there any coming out? If not then theres your prob. The modulator will be in the same place as the one in the third gen, the distrib. Should be a semi "C" shapped thing with prongs. Test the prongs for current. 9 times outta 10 its the Ignition modulator that has gone bad if you get no spark, when just 10 minutes ago it was running.

From what I've heard, Fords are famous for bad ignition modulars, too.
It's an external one, right?
