I also noticed this afternoon while I was working on my car , I slightly bumped the tranny fluid dipstick with my arm .Well I knowticed when I did that if felt like it was moving .I still didnt pay much attention but then as I was about to shut the hood, the dipstick did not look like it was in the right place .I pulled on it with my hand and I can move it back and forth about 2 and 1/2 inches .What the hell ??? lol

Take car to where the tranny will be done.
Have them reinsert the tube back into the tranny.
5 sec job with right knowledge.

There is supposed to be a bellhousing bolt holding it in place. The part that goes around the bolt could be broken I guess. But
you might wanna check that out, if one is loose or missing.... what about the other five?

It's really hard to get at too.

Yep, I had the same thing happen after Lee Myles did my transmission - that's the $1200 trans that lasted a year and five months! They forgot to put that trans dipstick thru the middle bellhousing bolt on the passenger side.

So, I took some "utility wire" (in the Help! section of your local parts store), and used it to anchor the trans dipstick tube down. There was something in the area that I tied it to... can't remember what. I looped the wire as if it was a bolt, and used the existing "eye" on the trans dipstick tube.

The bobos also forgot to hook up my TCC wire. I asked 'em about it, and the guy said "it seemed to drive better with it unhooked." I was thinking WTF? I paid you guys to replace the trans, "stock for stock", not screw with the trans!
