start out with a good tune up and a k&n. try using a higher brand plugs like bosch and wires like accels. then you could start doing bigger stuff to it like a cam and stuff. if you want ideas look at my signature.
This engine is sooooooo clean.... my uncle wasnt a mech buff, but he likes his car clean...
Only problems on this car are the rigth clicker, which i can fix, the sound system and some scratches...
How much will a 2.8 --> 3.4 swap cost, how many horses and tq will it give and is it a good swap?

Realities!!
I paid $800 for my engine & I sold left over 3.4 stuff for $105 on ebay.
Everything must be in primop shape for the swap to work great.
Fuel injector, distributor, igintion, exhaust
AND MOST IMPORTANT TRANSMISSION!
EVERY ONE OF THE SWAPPERS HAS GONE THRU A TRANSMISSION AFTER THE SWAP.
All 20+ Including only one stick shift person (clutch).
Others have paid less the $800 for their 3.4.
My car pulls like a fu*king freight train.
It's such a dream come true. A great running powerful steady reliable ride.
PS Open your hood. That's exactly what the end result looks like after the 3.4 swap.

Yep, do the major tuneup first- especially if you're a "newbie" to car mechanics. The manual I tell you to buy for $15, and the work you do, will get you one step further away from "newbie" status.
I just reposted the major tuneup info, find it here: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=87334
