a non V6 question

I am planning on taking my V6 off the road(as you all already now) HOWEVER I am also converting my 305TBI to carb. I already know I need a 'verter lock up switch, and distrib. The obvious carb and intake. I plan on doing this with my 1200 in tax returns!

I am planning on having a fuel block, with return line/pressure regulator. Question is what PSI should I run it at? I am thinking 9 PSI...

Yeah, 5-6 I hear very very often is the max.
Get yourself a fuel pressure regulator.
Cagle makes one.
Simple in line dial set up.
I "hear" tbi fuel pressure is not as strong as the v6 one, too.

Hmm turbo install.. header install.. Y pipe install.. and a few other things like a full front suspension rebuild.

Yeah I don't know what I was thinking with 9.. I'll go around 7.

And yes the TBI FP is 14PSI.

And I do plan on getting a fuel block w/ regulator and return line.

I chose the 625 electric choke I forget the brand, only 199, and a torquer(spelling I know) eldelbrook intake for some performance. I also chose a Accel distrib. 100 bucks I think?.. so In all about 500... Not bad for better performance and 40-60 ponies I have been told.

Yeah it is... I looked it up again. I was thinking Demon, but I need a few more parts and rebuild before that I go that far...

Why not go MPFI? it can be better than both carb and tbi when set up right. I know that is the only thing that make my 2.8 what it is.

you can make more power, in this case, with the carb conversion when set up right. tbi is just the bastard child of combining a 2bb carb & a "fuel injector". Plus it's a whole lot cheapeer & easier than going to the MFI setup.

ok $500 to convert to carb, or over $1200 for MPFI... guess why...

MPFI costs WAY more and some things you can dial in a carb and it will be just as powerful as a MPFI. Nedless to say all the damn sensors and computer (rap. With carb I can thow a bunch of stuff on before having the change jets, its very forgiving. MPFI is alot ore finiky. Though yes it will eventually get the MPFI casue I would actually like to punch the 305 to 355 and put a turbo onto that!... but thats a long way down the road.

And PS I got the turbo today off ebay. damn thing weighs a ton, but theres a lot of stuff I can take off of it so I am...
