Drills and saws and pliers and hoses. OH MY!
Drills and saws and pliers and hoses. OH MY!
Nothing to do nothing to do, put some mustard in your shoe!
NOT!
I discovered I had a recipracating saw (powered by a drill!).
What do you do with a new tool?
USE IT!
I broke out my piles of PVC HVAC Plastic I've bought at swap meets.
To the passenger side!
I found this one plastic piece, I stuffed it into the passenger side fender. Fed it from the ground.
Removed the Charcoal canister, used a left over air inlet hose from my 1975 Fuel Injected Opel Sport Wagon. I now have fresh air scooped and fed right to the air box, still using the factory lid.
I'm thinking if some is good MORE IS BETER!
I break out my drill and pliers and this saw thing I discovered.
DO YOU KNOW HOW EASY IT IS TO CUT THESE HOODS?
DAMN, like a hot knife in butter.
I sliced away the brace area, right infront of the FIREBIRD airbox. Previously I had the air inlet box lid flipped up, not cut off, nor angled down to catch air. Now, I'll find out how effective is my air inlet set up.
My K & N air filter is "dirty".
I want to see what happens after a few more days.
You guys with Camaros are so lucky. Your air inlet set up is SO EASY compared to a Firebird.
This one 3rd Gen Factory Fresh Air Inlet package I bought for me, is now going up on ebay soon.
I can't use it. Repainted and detailed very very nice. Includes air filters (NOT K & N) and side panels, too.
Since I just got a Digital camera, I can post pics of this air inlet set up I created. I'll take some shortly. Everyone here knows what the Camaro Fresh Air set up look like.
I need to upload more classic car parts I have for sale on ebay first. Gotta pay for the camera, somehow! Need any parts for Old Corvettes, Old Firebirds or Camaros? I may have them!

YOu'll be so disappointed!!
Mismatched front nose piece,
hookey looking air inlet set up
ripped back bumper cover
no headliner.
Thing I'm happiest about right now is I installed a trailer hitch, yesterday.
I can now get the engines I gotta bring home to swap.
I can tow a engine "Cherry Picker", to lift them outta the car.
And somehow use the cherry picker to lift two trannys into the Firebird for rebuilding.
I have a tender back, starting physical therapy, again, for strength.
Ya get smarter as ya age.
PS Never stop doing stupid things Figure out how not to get caught!
Tell ya what, how'd ya like a pic of Jada, the Princess of Prices on Ebay?
Results of freeway driving---
Did all this air inlet stuff work?
Not sure..
Did it help performance?
Not sure...
By going to the 3.4, my power increased so dramatically, hard to now tell....
I can say, it certainly didn't hurt! I mean, I did my usual 75+ passing. Seemed to be (time wise) the same.
When I check my air filter, then I'll truly know.
I haven't cleaned air filter since I got it ages ago. No need to yet.

Well I want to see pics either way.
How about a couple of pics of the hunny's you know the wife and Girlfriend(Corvette and Camaro)
Lets see those. I would love the see a rust free car just once.
seeing how my whole life evolves around my favourite things rusting out.
