today i was going to my grandparents for dinner .so i got in my car and it started up fine , no problems. after about 5 mins the stereo would shut off and then come back on it did this like every 30 seconds. so i got there and parked and shut it off and went inside. after i was done i came back outside and it woundnt start. the lights would flicker and it would make a clicking noise.i checked the battery cables and they were snug . my best guess is the starter or the soliniod for the starter.can u guys please help me out with this.

 

I put money on either your battery is dead or your alternator is dead which caused your battery to be killed. Your starter wouldn't have anything to do with your lights flickering and radio turning off and on . Go to a local auto zone, checker or whatever is around your house and bring your alternator and battery. Have them check the alternator and get your battery charged. I would put money that it is your battery or alternator, Put it on a battery charger to see how much charged it is. As for alternator, Just replace it or go to a boneyard

 

i dont think its my battery becuz all my lights and my stereo works with all and if i put my headlight on there not dim or anything. so i now think that it could be the alternator.

 

It's ur altenator . I BET that's what it is .

 

well it was the alternator. i went over with my dad and we had to jump charge it for like 10 mins and i managed to get it started and i had to cruise through every redlight to get home. as i was goin threw the last light this old lady yelled F-U a$$hole at me. but anyways you guys were right it was the alt. thanks for all the help.
