I'm going to get 2 of those, 1 for the bonneville, & 1 for the bird. when the turbo is ready, I will get the BTM & add it to it. I don't see any reason to get the 6AL for an auto, the 6A should be fine, & it's cheaper too

I have the 6AL, just in case. Plus, it doesn't look like you can add a rev limiter to the 6A box at all. And eventually, for racing, I plan to get the MSD 2-step RPM box for it (1 stage for lining up at the tree, 2nd stage for running down the track).
I didn't notice much of a power increase, except /maybe/ a bit at high RPM's. I never keep track of gas mileage, so I can't help ya there. But I did notice the car takes an extra fraction of a second to start. It used to start up with a 1/2 second blip of the key, now it takes almost a full second.
The only reason I bought it (well, my girlfriend bought it for me as a gift!) was because I'm almost out of mods to the car. I'd suggest buying a high voltage coil first, and getting the MSD box when you run out of things to do on the V6. You can buy a regular MSD coil (2 wire), and that'll make it easier to hook up to an MSD box later. Yes, our 4-pin coil wiring harness can be modified to connect into a 2-terminal coil. But, take care of the common stuff first...
I run a MSD 6AL, with a Blaster SS coil, rebuilt distrib (stock parts, I want to do the Holley module one day), MSD 8.5mm wires, and Splitfires (which I'll be going back to AC/Delco's; the MSD seems to eat the Splitfires, damn.)
