OK, I know that nobody is going to go out and buy a complete Fiberglass body, for a street ride; BUT look at that "*rear window blank". What is that? Some kind of plexiglass substitute for the rear window?
That rear window is the heaviest thing on the whole car (and what gives the car its distinctive look), I think it weights more than the engine - disconnect yur support rods and try to lift that sucker.

 

yea its definately a heavy f***er. I had to replace my hatch pistong thingys a few years ago. I have heard that its possible to get a plexiglass insert, but I have never seen one. not quite sure what that could be, but that would save a good 200+ pounds. unfortunately its over the rear wheels, so you would lose traction, but i would imagine it would make a hell of a difference.
