Why did he take my breather off ?

When I got back my car Tues the mechanic told me he took the K&N breather off b/c it needed to breather .I had it on the passenger side valve cover .You know where the metal tube goes to the pipe which connects to the TB . It seems the K&N would be fine there ? Unless the suction from the engine has something to do with the pipe hooking up to the air cleaner pipe .What do you guys think ? B/c I just wonder how right he is about that ?

the tube that goes tothe intake, leave alone. the other side feel free to slap a breather on it. The intake creates "vacuum" on the one bank. So the breather on the other cover would be fine to aid in Crank case evac.

best said chd...i had the same problem after the cam install i forgot what goes where...and the side that connects to the manifold actaully is a vacuum line going to it ....this is not to be messed with

and the side that goes to the air tube before teh TB can be swapped...for a breather

Hmm , thats the side I had the breather on . I didnt mess with any hoses on the manifold . I took the metal hose out of the valve cover which goes to the airtube out and put a breather on that .
