I dont think there is a lot of difference in the smoothie 2 rims compared to the TT2 rims. If there isnt a correct size offered in the smootie 2 for our car then Id get the TT2 wheels. There a lot cheaper too.

Well, the smoothie 2 rims have a different lip, valve stem placement and the main body (5 spokes) has a more sharp line down the center of each spoke. I think the Original smoothie rims looks a lot like the TT2 rims though.

I know this is a bit off subject but I really like the color of your car and I was also wondering if you took the nose emblem off or did you get a front end with no emblem or something?

these are a 18x9.5 vette wheels front and rear with 2.25 adapters. they have 275/35/18 nitto 555s on them. i put these on just to see what it would look like and how they would fit. it does not rub and they sit in the wheel well perfectly.

Not a fan of the wheels, a lil too flashy/blingy for me. I like the rest of it though, nice and clean

I might be able to help since that is my car and I had them made by Fikse back in 1999. They are a one off set of Fikse FM/5's custom made for my car. They measure 17x9.5 front and 17x10.5 rear. I currently have Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 275/40/17 fronts and 315/35/17 rears on the car and I swap out rear tires with Nitto Drag radials on occasion.

It's weird seeing my car with different wheels. I did a double take.

C6 wheels look good on a C6, I'm not impressed with them on most other cars. There are some great looking wheels in this thread though. Great thread.

What offset was used and did they require the use of spacer?
From a website I see the lug pattern for our vehicle and 43 offset.

I don't know why, but I always liked the factory 16" 91-92 Anniversary rims. I know that like 17x9s would be better for handling, but I only got these for $400. I used to have the base model 15" RS rims. Those, I do not like!

Did she give you a price on these Rims?
Also I see a conflict that some web pages have them listed un the Gotcha Series and Other sites under the Signature Series. The Signature Series rims cost about 130.00 more per rim....

Looking for the good old 18" to fill the wheel gap without lowering the vehicle.

I agree that a thirdgen w/ 18s and NOT lowered looks stupid.
The whole point of using wide, low profile rims/tires is for
handling. Same as with lowering the car an 1" or 2".
Although using the 17" or 18" rims also helps using big
brake kits even more, and gives the car a custom look. But
again, big wheels and stock height doesn't look too good,
IMO. But that's me. To each his/her own!

I've never actually seen another thirdgen running American Eagle 204s, which mine had when I bought it.

Pardon the mis-badged doors. That was the previous owner's fault and I don't feel like taking them off just yet since I don't have the time to touch the paint back up yet.

nothing personal.. but theirs probably good reason for it. Somehow rims can be attributed to the 80's Miami vice/wreadnek trends. Those are 80's rims.

Heh. '80s rims on an '80s car, what's so wrong with that?

I think they actually fit the car's looks pretty well. Of course, I never watched Miami Vice (I'm not much for TV really) so maybe I'm just not biased about it.

My theory... Thirdgens have not yet become classics.. almost their.. but not just yet. Very little about the 80's will be considered classic. I love the 80's, but some aspects I'd rather forget, 80's rims are amongst these things. If we are ever to elevate our vehicles to classic status, 80's rims MUST GO!. Oddly enough, stock rims on just about everything (except the iron dukes and some SC's) complimented the car well. The 80's aftermarket however, needs to be forgotten.

80's aftermarket.. rims

80's rims.. gone wrong

In conclusion, im not a fan of 80's aftermarket rims on TG's... their are obvious exceptions to this however, but i've strayed far enough off topic..... getting back on topic.

Dem is da hotness..

Er, yeah, those rims (with maybe the exception of the first one) are really bad, but so are the paint/body extras on those cars...

The way I see it, horrible isn't just the rims, it's also what aftermarket mods are put on them and how they were installed, as well as the paint jobs. And there's certainly a lot of new rims that I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole, spinners are just at the top of the heap.
