Falkens or Yokohamas?

What should i get?? I have heard that the falken is a good tire but not to sure...i want something w/pretty decent traction and life, since i proly wont be putting my engine in for about 4-6 months...i was gonna get the nitto 555s but they are like $30 per tire

so do you think these...
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...5&cs=275&rd=17

or these...
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...5&cs=275&rd=17
would be better?

the next tires after these will be the nitto DR's or just the 555 extremes at 285/40x17 and not 275

Im using Falken FK451s and love em. Great cornering traction.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance--I don't see any difference in the tires in the two different links--what am I missing?

Lemme give you a little advice. Look into the BFG KDW tires for all around street use. I have a set of those Falkens and they rock the house if it's dry or just a little wet. If you have ANY, and I mean ANY, standing water on roads where you live, you will hate those tires. They look like they'd be great in water, but they suck. If you don't mind having to leave the car at home if it's raining out, get them. They are cheap, cheap and are GREAT dry tires. They wear nice and they have a ton of grip, both straight and corner type. I don't know if it snows in AZ where you are, but don't even get me started on that little experience I had by accident. As for the Yoko's, I'll never own another Yoko tire as long as I live. Let's just say I've had a few problems with them. If it were me, I'd either get the tires you really want or the BFG's. My bro has a set on his car and after one little run in it, I'll be buying the BFG KDWS when I step up to 17"

I've been doing a lot of reading, comparing lately and at the moment I am leaning towards the Goodyear GS-D3 's for the everyday street tires.
255/40ZR/17 fronts
275/40ZR/17 rear

and leaning towards the MT 's for a dedicated set of rear for the strip.

I would really like to hear from some people who are actually running the Goodyear's and their opinions of the tire compared to others!

Thanks for the compliment. I would be running good numbers if I could get it to run right... Anyway, the strait-line traction is just horrible, but a 40-series street tire and a lot of torque/stall dont mix. Back when it was a bolt-on car, though, it seemed to do okay strait-line.
