tires "bfg's vs. nittos"

Some one please help! I have a set of bfg drag radial's and i'm very impressed with them on the street, however I've never had a set of nitto's. My understanding is that the nitto's have a longer life but the bfg's are a little better traction. Have any of you run both at the same track? Are the nitto longer life a fair trade for their lesser traction?

I have never used BFG's for a performance application but I have used the Nitto's. They are a good overall tire and seem to hold up well.

check tirerack.com for a comparrison

All you have to do is look at the tread rating and the actual tread design. The nittos will obviously last longer and perform much better in the rain. I'm not sure how much better the BFG's hook, but my nittos get great traction.

my buddy has nittos on his 00 ss, wore those out and got some bfgs after i had mine and we put them on his car. he drives his alot more and alot harder. the nittos lasted longer, but the bfgs hook alot better. is the car more of a daily driver? if so, get the nittos. i have my bfgs on a space pair of wheels and use them only at the track

Just wrote a huge reply to this topic on the other thread about it on this forum. Read it for a comparison trying both the Nitto's and the BFG's on 2 cars.
