Kumho 712's
For the price they can't be beat. Grip is what you would expect for the price. They're decent, probably a 7 or 8 out of 10 for a radial. Cold they have zero traction, much worse than other tires. And on my car, they seem to last quite long compared to others I've had. They do pretty well in the rain. If you're looking for something a little more performance oriented, the 711 is much better.

Iv'e had khumos on a couple of cars, and all I can say is that they where okey. Since I obviously havent the funds to buy alot of tires and compare them ( since I have khumo's in the first place), I wouldn't know how they stack up against other brands.
All I can say is that noise was acceptable, and so was treadwear, handling and grip.
As it was about to wear out (rears), the grip diminnished to a point where you could get sideways in almost any situation, and this is with a LG4. If you heat them up though, they grip fine for 1/4 runs. THey should really not be used with so little trhread left as I used them though, so the grip would not be an issue in it's normal life span.
One thing I liked about hem was that they where a wide tire, not the kind where you buy a 285/50-16 and it only measures 245 across the widest part of the tire. Falkens are like that. Avoid those as the plague.
EDIT: Uhm, I should perhaps add that I don't know which kind of kuhmos I had....

I do not like them. My girlfriend has them on her 97 Z28 as well and they are terrible.
I have a set of new Yokohama ES100's waiting in the wings along with my Boyd Smoothie 2's. I put the Yoko on a friends 97 6 speed Z and he is liking them a lot, as well as another friends 02 WS6 so far so good.
For the price they are at best decent. I have seen a lot of the 712's leave my shop and many of the V8 people aren't digging them to much. Just my .02.
