How do 17x8 rims fit?

Does anybody know how 17x8 rims fit under the front wheel wells? Would they rub against anything turning them? I have a 1987 camaro.

Thanks

they fit like buttah , they are 17x8 with a 4.5 bs i think , i dont think they have a 4.75 and a 4.5 but they fit perfect , i dont have them but they fit just like stock , if you get some , please dont get chrome , get polished and then paint them up like stock like mr irocz did .

Re: How do 17x8 rims fit?

Thanks for the info. You are right about the backspacing. don't worry about the chrome because I was aiming for black rims because I now have rims painted the same color as my car but there the originals so you can imagine how bad they look.(chips, scratches everyehere) I also want black because I am getting sick of looking at brake dust every time I drive my car and then I feel committed to cleaning them. Do you know what the differance in tire size there would be from moving the diameter to 17 from 16? For example does the P245 50 r16 stay the same?
Thanks again.

Picture of my car with 17 x 8.5 wheels and 245/45/ZR17 tires. No problems.

rub 275 40 17s , umm, the guy with the black camaro with the fender vents , his name escapes me . He now has 18 and 20s irocs, but he had 17x8 tt2s with 275 40 17s all around or at least that size on the back .

Cool now I know what tires to get. Thanks for the input and everybody's car looks great with 17's on this thread. Wow 20 inch IROCs sure that looks amazing, but how is the ride quality with rims that big?

Raybestos QuietStop pads next time you need brakes. Very minimal dusting.
