18"/19" C6 OEM Competition Gray wheels are on
Here some quick shots of my 89 Iroc-z Camaro with 18/19" C6 wheels. OEM competition gray wheels. 19x10 and 18x8.5. Tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 295/30/19 out back, and Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Positions 255/40/18 up front
4th gen rear with custom machined .625" slip on spacer by Skulte Performance Design. Fronts are 1.7" bolt on spacers as i plan on C5 brakes up front
STock front brakes are only temporary and are sooo tiny
Let me know what you think
NOT the best pics but you get an idea atleast

Looking good. Although I feel they look better with smaller rims with fat tires those are still nice, good job.

those look pretty sick dude! I was thinking of getting a 1/2" or 3/4" spacer for my rear wheels, that stance makes me wanna do it now. Its too bad I never see your car driving around town.(actually its probably a good thing, I'm sure I'd wreck from staring

Re: 18"/19" C6 OEM Competition Gray wheels are on
I got the wheels off corvette forum. OEM takeoffs from someones vette
yes the sidewall up front is larger but you cant do anything about that given the staggered size. I could run a smaller sidewall up front but it will be smaller diameter tire. That aint gonna fly on this car. I need a taller front to keep the car off the ground
I wanted a 35 series tires for rear but they dont make it in that size for that tire, plus that will be a 27inch tire
As it sits both tires/wheels are 26 outside diameter. The sidewalls advertised at 4.0" front, 3.5 inch rear, but that extra .5 inch is noticeable and i dont like it but w/e.
I should have gotten 285/35's like vettes usually run. that would have gave me 3.92 " rear sidewall and would have looked better. It be a 26.85" outside diameter which will be nice once i get the proper gear out back for this motor. but 285's are too narrow, i want 305's really bad
That give me a 3.6" sidewall height, still far off tho
Haha where you from, i dont go thru pittsburgh area that much with this car

do they rub at all? I am thinking of using the polished ones. yours look great with that color scheme but my vert is going to be a navy blue metal flake. Is yours lowered at all or stock ride height?

Re: 18"/19" C6 OEM Competition Gray wheels are on
Its already got a prokit on it.. 1.5" front 1" rear drop or so it was
The car is low enough lol i am NOT going any lower. I cant drive it anywhere as it is, the exhaust is soo low with the spohn crossmember. When i get a T56 and can tuck the exhaust up alittle more, i could go another inch but i'm probly gonna keep it where its at
I dont rub at all. I got plenty of clearance. the fronts are only marginally wider than stock tires and only 1/4 inch or so taller so no big deal there. rears have plenty of clearance with my 4th gen rear and 5/8" spacer. I could easily fit a 305 on there which i'll get next time around hopefully
On a navy blue car i'd love to see competition gray. it fits blue cars best i think. But polished works on everything

I still have the prostars and i love them to death but i dont wanna ride around everywhere on ET streets/skinnies. Just no fun. Plus the car handles well too, its not a drag only car and you cant enjoy it on the street in that setup
BUT with the C5 brakes up front that i will have in a few weeks, i cant use the skinnies so those will be up for sale. I will see if they clear the brakes with the big spacer but i doubt it.

mods to inner fender include literally 1 minute of hammering with little hammer to bottom most front corner. I'll get a pic for you later
I didnt have to do the hammering as i had 1/4 inch clearance there, but i did anyway to gain more. wheels fit perfect with my little spacer and 4th gen rear

depending on your offsets/backspacing you may have to do more pounding to the inner fender well. the small thin metal is easy to move, that other big stuff doesnt budge easily

Looks really good. Id lower it another inch or so all the way around too. The brakes will really help to fill things out. Ive got the exact same problem but i just bought cts-v calipers and plan on going with 14" rotors so that will take care of that.

i was hoping to go with corvette Z51 C6 brakes to match
this car wants to be a vette so bad but i'll settle for red Z06 C5 brakes. calipers are here, just waiting the spindle/bracket/hubs
what do you guys think of red grand sport fender hash mark/stripes?? lol

Re: 18"/19" C6 OEM Competition Gray wheels are on
i think they would look best on blue cars
gray and blue works great
I got them in the classifieds section over at corvetteforum.com. Sometimes you'll find some on LS1tech, but comp gray is harder to find.
ebay has rears for sale every now and then but never fronts from what i've seen
i believe its 18x8.5 with 58mm (maybe 56) front offset. 19x10 with 79mm offset

looks very nice love the competition gray alot better then my silvers, i do agree front tires should be 255/35's thats what i have and i have 305/35 out back
love the car over all though although an inch drop would do it justice, but thats just my style

35 series fronts would be as tall as my skinnies and i scrape everywhere with those on. exhaust is too low. right now as it sits with the 255/40 fronts its awesome! i havent had any problems with the exhaust on the same roads i've driven with the skinnies
if i go with 305/35 and 245/40, the side walls will be closer at 3.85" front and 3.60" bigger difference than 4 and 3.5". I'll consider that next go round

Re: 18"/19" C6 OEM Competition Gray wheels are on
its funny tho, for such big sizes of 18" and 19" they dont look all that big in person at most angles. Its like 20's arent bling bling for these cars if you get the right wheel.
i seen a nice 2002 SS with a 20/19 setup that i thought was a 18/17 at first glance. i got up close and the wheels looked a tad bigger, but i didnt think it was 20/19 combo. Maybe its just me, i dont think 17's cut it anymore

Re: 18"/19" C6 OEM Competition Gray wheels are on
295/35/19's are only made by BF goodrich and they do look nice, my boss has a set on his corvette, nice wall height ad thick thread but way 2 expensive and hard to find unless you buy new. but i do agree with 35 series front tires and little exhaust clearence, but i moved up from 17's so having 18's up front helped me somewhat, funny that u mention how the rims looks smaller then what they are, but that mainly because were so used to seeing cars and trucks with over sized rims, i still remember the days when the 17's on my iroc were the shiznit

Re: 18"/19" C6 OEM Competition Gray wheels are on
Actually, just to be accurate, 255 40 18s would go PERFECT with 305 30 19s. The overall diameter is only .17 off and the sidewall heights are very close as well less than .5" difference.
As soon as i need tires again, im gonna go with 305 30 19 pilots and it should really look even and nice. I grip like a **** with my 295 30 pilots as is. You cant get a better tire than the pilot period
Im more concerned about my speedo being off by 4-5 mph than my sidewalls looking spot on even. I dont care who you are from 10 ft out you cant tell me the difference of .4" and if you did it would just be your best guess it wouldnt be noticeable.

Wow I just put on my polished c6 wheels on my white car I know what you mean by how they dont look like they would be a 19/18 setup.
Edit: oh and i think that the red hash marks like the grand sports would look good on your car. Just make sure you dont do both sides just one side looks best

pic 1 and 2 are BA. Nice work and I usually dont compliment many camaros because they are fairly common.
I also would suggest you take some VHT nightshade and smoke your turn signal lenses.

Re: 18"/19" C6 OEM Competition Gray wheels are on
There is a difference in sidewall height. 3.5" sidewall for the rear, 4" for front. Next time around I am gonna try a 305 tire out back, around 3.6" sidewall, and run a 245 front for a 3.9" sidewall. Should even it out abit more. 1/3 inch should be less noticeable than 1/2. As much as I drive, I wont be replacing these tires anytime soon tho.
Proper tire match would be 285/35/19 for the rear. 3.9" sidewall. I am considering that but i love wider tires for the rear

I think the car looks really good in the pictures - nice color combo.
In person, the 19" rears may appear to have a too thin sidewall, but they look like 18" all around in the pics.

Still dont like it 100% yet, I wish the sidewalls were abit more even but thats the price you pay for staggered wheels. Kinda limited in your choice of tires that match. ESPECIALLY with 19's

wow that just pissed me off. There were the exact wheels for sale on my local craigslist for 600 bucks just a few weeks ago. I thought naw those will look to big for my taste. Then I see your car and I just want to slap myself. The wheels look sweet on your car. Im jealous.
