Purchasing a set of iroc rims with tires...

hello everyone!

I've got myself a 1987 IROC-Z 5.7L camaro. Heres the sizes as of right now:

front - P215/65r/15
rear- P245/60r/15

Now I'm looking at a set of iroc rims for 300. We went and looked at them today and they're in great shape with good tires. Now, the size on these are 255 /60/16 all round I believe. Will these fit? Or should I look for small wheels for the front and larger rears? The car will mostly be street driven.

thanks!

If you are buying IROC wheels make sure you get a set marked front & rear.
Tire sizes for these 8 x 16 wheels are 245/50/16 stock and 255/50/16 max.

What you stated must be incorrect because I never heard of 255/60/16 size

Re: Purchasing a set of iroc rims with tires...

To clear up any confusion my current rears are 245/60/15. I was told the new tires are 255/60/16... But I will check before I make the purchase. Will the rim not fit 60 profile or is 50 the max? Also, will switching from bigger in the rear/smaller in the front to 4 all round the same size make a driving difference? I hope these are a decent set! As for the markings of which rim goes on which side...Does anyone know where they are? Thanks everyone. If all goes well I'm going tomorrow morning to bring these home!

You will look on the inside of the rim and it should say front or rear. I think the 60 profile will rub. Just hope it is a 50 profile.

You shouldn't notice any difference going wider but maybe better handling.

OK guys I went and purchased them this morning. $300! 2 missing center caps, but they're not too much to replace. Found the markings for front/rear and the tires are actually 225/60r16not 255/60r16 like he said. Think they'll rub still?

Here are some pictures...once I head back home with them tomorrow I'm going to give them a gooood cleaning and polish.

The overall tire height are:
225/60/16=26.6"
245/50/16 (stock)=25.6"

215/65/15=26"
245/60/15=26.57"

So they should fit since the present tires are about the same height....
