crosslace wheel paint schemes
im in the process of stripping and refinishing a set of black crosslaces for my 92, i have 3 ready for polishing, but im wondering, instead of just painting the centers black and a polished lip, has anybody painted the wheels a different color that the black/gold? how about painting the lip a color as opposed to polished?
any pics of something like this? I kinda want to do something different, but would like some ideas, maybe some photochops of different color combos?

How about the ones that were on my wife's autocross 90? Purple w/yellow stripes & matching yellow centered wheels?

I've seen the center parts painted all kinds of colors. Well not too many colors. Yellow, gray, black, gold, and I think I saw them done in white once. Personally I'd leave the polished lip alone. I think that is the best look. As for what to paint the center part, well that would depend on the color of the car.

thats not to much of a variation off the gold, and the car they are going on is yellow, i just think it would be a little overkill on the yellow end.
Since nobody chimed in earlier, i said screw it and am sticking with polished lip and black center. In the process of sealing the polished parts now.

Re: crosslace wheel paint schemes
You do know they came in a large variation from the factory, even had the option for them to be painted red... which i think would look horrible. ive seen very many colors on them, red, white, black, gold, yellow, even a burnt orange color that someone had painted to match their car. Mine were black when i bought the car but were faded badly and chipping. Underneath the black was gold which led me to believe they were originally gold and painted black by someone. So i stripped them and painted them back to gold, granted my car is white but IMO they look much better gold on a white car then black.
