Quick noob question, about to replace tires

Quick noob question, about to replace tires
Currently my tires are p235/55/16 the stock tires on my 92 RS, along with 1 random p225/55/16 from when I needed a quick tire.
A guy on craigslist is selling a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle GTII Tires for $250, however these are P245/50 R16. Will these fit my wheels? I believe the difference is that these new ones are going to be slightly wider, and have a slightly smaller aspect ratio.
I was gonna save up and get some cooper cobras, but that would have come out to about 600 my last estimate! The money I'd save getting these though would help me get my bodywork done sooner, so I'd like to just get the eagles if I can.
