Iroc Rims/Tire Size
I have an 85 Iroc with the stock rims and tires. 245/50/16's. I would like to know if there is a company that makes a set of Iroc replicas that would size up to the same in the front but much wider in the back. Im looking to get 18" replicas with the same height and width in the front, and possibly the same height in the back but wider. And from some of the research i did, 245/40/18s are the same height and width as 245/50/16s. Maybe im just crazy but, i think i will have traction issues with a blown 383 hopefully making 500+ to the wheels. I have every suspension replacement part from UMI for the rear end (LCA's, Adj. Panhard, X member mounted torque arm) as well as sub-frame connectors. I have every intension of running MT ET Street Radial, or Radial II. Everybody at the track here (http://summitmotorsportspark.com/) that runs either of these tires says they hook up great on the street and ive seen first hand how they hook up on the strip. HELP PLEASE!!
Thanks

Re: Iroc Rims/Tire Size
You will have to buy a set and have them widened. Thats the downfall for IROC wheels, 8" and thats it.
As for the MTET streets, on the street they hook fine, but in the turns they wallow and won't last more than 5000 miles. I have them and use them only for drag racing.

Re: Iroc Rims/Tire Size
hmm, well then got any suggestions for a good street tire that will hook up with some decent power? Ive got a set of the Firestone Indy 500's on my T/A, junk if you ask me. I cant even go around a 35 mph rated corner at 45 without the rearend sliding out from under me. Sad when i can take my fullsize truck around a 35 corner at 55 with no problems.... oh yea, and its got Destination A/T tires too....
