stock front tire size 83 trans am/how big can you go
i have a 83 trans am and im trying to figure out how big of tires i can fit on the front. i am wondering what was the stock size they put on the front and how big i can go.i tried the 265/50s of the back but when i turned they rubbed the inside of the wheel wells. thanks ,eric

If your rear tires rub while cornering, you've got bushings issues. Probably worn out & no longer fit tight, allowing things to move in the wrong direction.

I think he means he took the 265/50s off rear and tried them on the front.
14" or 15" rim? the sticker on my car says 205/70r14.
I've got 235/60r14s on the front of my 82 trans am with no problems, probably could go bigger but never tried.

yah i took the 265 50s of the rear and put them on the front. they are 15s.

original for an 83 trans am was a 215/65/15.
I have 245/50/16 on it now with no rub.

I have 245's 65 15's on my 91 Formula with the 82 to 84 Stock 15" Turbocast wheels...
No rubbing, fills up wells nice and better traction since it's wider than factory...

I had 245s on the front and they rubbed on the brakelines. I went to 235s and they fit perfect.
