Backspace with 4th gen rear
Finally I've got a 12bolt rear on the way, from a 4th gen so now I have to get new wheels.......
How about rims....
Will 15x10 7,5" BS fit a thirdgen?
And what backspace should I get if I get 8" wide wheels...
Since 4,5"BS is common on our cars with 8"wheels then add 2" for a 4th gen rear....dont think there is any 8" with 6.5" BS
So yo guys wyth 4th gen rears what BS are you running, pictures are always nice. Will go for 15" in the rear with 275/65 Drag radials I think......

a straight edge and a tape measure works pretty well too. Why cant people think of this on their own?

Re: Backspace with 4th gen rear
4th gen rears like 7-7.5" for 10" wheels. 5.5"-6" for 8" wide wheels. I run 15x8's at 5.5" bs. Fits good. It could be another 1/2 inch in tho.
Keep in mind, if you use LS1 rear brakes on the 4th gen rearend, most 15" wheels will not clear the brake calipers without a good deal of grinding on the caliper. I did that combined with a small 5/16" spacer to get the clearance I needed.

Re: Backspace with 4th gen rear
Hey guys, so i am getting ready to order my Weld wheels for radials. I am going with 275/50r15s, will be running a fourth gen rear, and am most likely going with a 15x9.33" wheel (Mickey Thompson suggests a max of 9.5" for a 275 tire but want to go as wide as possible). So if a 8.5" wide would like a 5.5" and a 10.5" would like 7.5", would a ~9.5" be best with a 6.5" backspacing to provide clearance in all the locations it is needed and still tuck in the fender moderately well? Thanks in advance and I hope to hear from some of you, Jeremy
