Boze HI Octane Rims or Corvette style?
well i have been searching forever to find a rim that i wanted to put on my camaro and ive pretty much narrowed it down to two kinds. im leaning more towards the Boze HI Octane rims but as expensive as they are the'corvette(possibly replicas) are appealing as well. Looking at a 17' or 18' inch size...which ones do you think will look better? leaning towards a gunmetal but open for color suggestions as well.
edit: its a bad pic of car...but its the dark bright teal

i can agree with that, im going hre wheels on mine this year with 4 inch lip on the back fully polish
Re: Boze HI Octane Rims or Corvette style?
Everyone and their mom has 'Vette wheels; to me it just doesn't seem right, to be using a wheel off a higher-end car...it kind of screams "poser" to me, but I don't know.
'Vette wheels just don't look right to me usually, flat-faced wheels are pretty ugly IMO in general, though there are exceptions.
The other issue is that spacers are a pretty huge turn-off to me; I like my wheels to bolt on right to the hub, with proper fit without any other stuff in between.
That said, billets don't look good at all in anything under 18" IMO. 17" billets look off somehow.
I'd go with the Boze.

I agree with Puma!
I hate a flat faced rim like a vette rim or a 4th / 5th gen rim on a 3rd gen.
To flat faced, not enough dish or offset.
I like a rim with a dish to it.
I like the vette rims...only on a vette or a 4th gen.

Everyone has opinions on what wheels works for them. doesnt mean they are a " poser" but that is your oppion that works for you

It must me the poser in me haha but I personally like the z06 in 18" and polished not chrome and with out rivits. Im not a fan of the motorsports. But Look at tpi terror's car. But I like those boze as well. they are quite a bit more in price arent they?

i do really like the vette style that is on the blue camaro...i even thought about those in chrome(or polished) thats what got me looking at vette wheels in the first place
heres another question what backspacing and width should i go with on the boze...i eventually will upgrade the front brakes.

This is a no brainer...The Boze rims will set your car apart from the crowd. I'd look around in the 2 piece billet market some more if your willing to spend the cash. There are some better looking rims then the ones you chose from Boze.

Re: Boze HI Octane Rims or Corvette style?
i kind of fell in love with the boze rims when i saw them on sinister z's car....ever since then ive been trying to convince myself its worth the money.
what rims are those on your car?
Re: Boze HI Octane Rims or Corvette style?
dont need to talk alot of trash every one has there opinion and style i dont like alot of setups here and i dont talking smack to them about there stuff so if i drop and ls3 or ls1 motor on my car im a poser because its corvette engine or if i drop corvette brakes im a poser because its corvette lol its funny personally i don't like original cars because even there grandma can drive them no personal style whatsoever wheres the creativity on a stock car old and boring enough said
The OP asked for people's opinions on which wheels to get, I gave my opinion.
Just because I think it looks poser-ish doesn't mean you have to care what I think.
Personally I'd feel a bit stupid pulling up next to a 'Vette at a stoplight, with the same wheels he has. You may not care though.
Whatever floats your boat.
I'm not saying some of them don't look good/alright, I just don't care for flat faces wheels or putting factory wheels from a higher car on mine. I wouldn't put Cobra wheels on a Mustang GT either.
If you like it, that's fine. Do as you wish. I just gave my opinion on 'Vette wheels, as the OP solicited it.

Re: Boze HI Octane Rims or Corvette style?
I'd start with straight polished (for any choice), finish (car) paint and then, decide from there for painting wheels. easier to add paint to wheels than remove.

The ones on the blue car are probably the best looking vette wheels you can get for a camaro IMO. The Boze ones are amazing to just you have to think about what your using the car for and how the wheels will be treated, let's face it they are not cheap and a scratch in those would make me want to cry.

Re: Boze HI Octane Rims or Corvette style?
I went with the Boze Octanes but without the rivets because they are a really nice rim and they are different from your regular Corvette ZR1's that everyone has these days, kinda like the Torque thrust II's...I had those on my car but I spent the extra cash and got the ones you see now, They were $2600.00 + tires which came to $4000.00 and if you are planning on putting a big break system on there get the spokes contured or shaved on the inside...they will ask you when you order them!

ill probably get a set with the rivets if i do. the smooth ones do look better on your car though for sure. they def look better on your car than the tt's did. buying the rims themselves i think i can swing its just putting rubber on them that gets me concerned. granted the tires will last forever as the car isnt a dd or even close to it.what kind of tires did you get? that seems like a lot for a set of tires, even 18's...thats part of why i was thinking about going 17's as the rubber is cheaper
are you pretty happy with them so far? im assuming the quality and everything is pretty good for the price?

funny part about that qoute is some of them might think that then try to speed off, then realize im still there
(gonna take a lot more tuning for that though)
i agree i do like those rims a lot but i feel like a shiny rim on my car might be a bit much...still undecided on color though...yes i would cry if i scratched them lol but thats the risk you take with any nice paint, rims, or car in general. my car isnt a daily driver by anymeans nor will it ever be that again. it for the first time in its life has a garage to sleep in and it seems to be pretty happy in there lol even with no heat or ac yet
took you long enough to find this thread

ok so if i go with 18s, what size tires should i run on them?
same for the 17's
i think i want to run the same size all the way around for rotating purposes

If you go with 18X8 & 18X10 rims then you could go with a 245/35/18 or 245/40/18 up front and up to a 285/35/18 on the rear, as for the backspacing on the rear mine is a 6 1/4" but you will need to take out the rear seat belts and massage the inner fender.

Re: Boze HI Octane Rims or Corvette style?
The only way that if you want to ba able to rotate the tires is by have the 18X8's all the way around, if that's what you want, now if you have an 18X10 rims on the back the tire will bee too big for the front and the 18X8 tire will be too small for the back!

Re: Boze HI Octane Rims or Corvette style?
Think you be missing out if you went with the 8" all the way around, having a nice fat tire in the back looks really good. If you could fit it I would go with a 9" front and 10" out back though having the car lowered might make it harder.
