Hey guys...I'm new to the forum. Looking to upgrade the shoes on my 1983 Camaro. Question is, will 16 inch IROC wheels fit on my 83? I'm relatively sure that the bolt pattern will be identical, but assuming I might have some back-spacing issues? If anyone knows, would appreciate some insight. Thanks!

 

Don't quote me on this but I believe all thirdgens have the same suspension dimensions. Meaning all thirdgen wheels will fit the same on all thirdgen cars.

 

Yes, they'll bolt right on.

Only issue you could have is the steering stops. They were slightly different for a car built with a 16" wheel. So you may have slight rubbing issues at full turn. Nothing to worry about though. Most people don't change a thing & just live with the slight rub & turning the wheel away, if the rubbing starts. No big deal.

I've run both 15 x 7 and 16 x 8 rims.

Never had any problems, no rubbing at turn and no issues with bump stops.

You should be fine.
