problem with iroc rims on my z28
hey guys, hoping i can get the help i need...
I got a set of oem iroc rims for my 85 z28, the tires on the back (drum breaks) are rubbing, actually only the driver side tire is rubbing, what size wheel spacers do i need to make these rims work? Another question, will going from a 15'' rim to a 16'' mess up the gears in the rear end, i am hearing a metal scraping noise coming from the back when i speed up or turn, i don't think it is the tire rubbing, as it sounds like steel, the drum hardware was as it should be when i checked yesterday.
Any help is appreciated.

What's the tire rubbing on? If the car is lowered, or the springs are really sagged, you may need an adjustable panhard to re-center the rear axle under the car. There are supposed to be some spacers between the rear 16" wheels and the drums, maybe about 3 mm thick.

if its just rubbing on the driverside, than its the bent panhard. I know the 16x8's on my 92 just touch the lower lip of the wheel well by the lca on both sides evenly, probably sidewall flex since there is clearance there, but its close. a bent panhard would make them rub.
sounds like a simple fix. As long as the bolts come out...

Why Does My Rear Have Spacers?
The spacer was apparently used on 16" wheels when GM switched from aluminum to iron drums, which created a .187 size difference. The spacer, however, seems to be hit or miss and essentially unnecessary. Even some disc brake cars received them.
