Re: 10" wide wheels front and rear, any issues?
looking good as usual!
I test fitted my wheels today on the front, perfect fit, but i desperately need a steering stop now.
Is that bolt head going to be large enough? a carriage bolt may be better since it has a large rounded head.

yeah, my current a-arms will hit the wheel before the tire hits the frame, someday, sooner than later i hope, some new style UMI arms will be going on and will solve that problem.

Same here my only issue is the rim hitting the a-arm not the frame or wheel well. Do you think the new UMI a-arms are shaped better to avoid this?
Regarding the bolt head. I think it will be fine. Its a 7/16" bolt and the head is just about as wide as the Spohn steering stop.

Oh that looks nice. What tires are those?

Just to clarify, my wheels dont hit the wheel well or frame, but since i have no steering stop ATM, the only point of reference i have is where the tire hits the inside of the wheel well on the frame. I have to heat and move the liner in the wheel well a little in the front but other than that, they fit like they were supposed to be there.
Clearance to my tie rod end is not good, its a bump steer setup i pieced together, so i can move the rod end up a bit and trim the stud to make room. Clearance to the strut is tight, but i measured 1/2" from the wheel to the strut body.
Tires are BFG KDW2's. same as i have on my 86. A great tire for the money, and in my experience very good in the rain too. Not so much when its cold and snowy, but thats what my truck it for.

the new UMI arms have the rear tube tucked tight to the spring pocket, supposedly providing more clearance than a stock a-arm, and defiantly more than the original UMI arm.

I will be curious to see what you come up with regarding bump steer kit clearance with the 18's. There have been a few questions lately. Of course I will have no problems with the 19's.

Re: 10" wide wheels front and rear, any issues?
like so, for example ( a simple google search will yield some info on this topic, give it a whirl)
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Deco-B...auge,2703.html
you can do it other ways, just need a rigid non moving point front and rear of the wheel to measure from. take a lot of measurements, some basic math, ect
Simplest way of putting it, bump steer is the change in steering angle or toe in/out, of the wheel when the suspension moves up and down. There will always be some, nature of the beast, but the idea is to keep it at a minimum over the cars useful suspension travel.
I need to measure mine aince i have everything apart, but i have not noticed an issue with bump steer in either of my cars, at any ride height i have had them at. So im sure its not a big problem.
I had the kit setup with the pivot point of the rod end at the same height as the pivot point of the tie rod end i removed. After i changed to tall balljoints, i lowered the rod end the same amount, didnt measure anything, but it seemed logical. So like i said, i will be measuring in the near future to see whats going on since i have to adjust things for wheel clearance.

I am going to try a more crude way first and see what I think.

Crap. Just checked out those a-arms and they don't have adjustable mounting points. With all the roto joint products UMI now offers, I assumed I could get their a-arms with roto joints. I really need the adjustability to tune my tire position front and rear with the tall front tires.

Re: 10" wide wheels front and rear, any issues?
Small update, its been a while. This is turning into the world's slowest wheel thread.
I have had a bunch of problems sorting out my Dana 44, which has really slowed down my car progress, so its still not on the ground, but I did manage to finally get the front and rears mocked up at the same time. I am really digging the look. Can't wait to see it on the ground.
Excuse the messy garage.

I can't wait to see this finished, I want to put 315s on all four corners of my car eventually. Where did you get the Z28 mudflaps?

Bought some knockoff C6 rims in that size (really cheap). I'd really like to see yours when done!
So far I have bought one 2" adapter to test fit the wheels.
I'll see. If you have updates, that would be really appreciated.

The wheels are on the car in that pic and fit very well. You will need to lengthen the steering stops a little and use some extra camber.
