Did you use 2" adapters? Less and they will rub. I have 18" on all 4 wheels with 255 up front 2" adapters and have lots of room.

315s should fit OK, depending on the offset of the wheel. My car with 315 Hoosiers on 17X11s in the rear (50mm offset wheels and 2" Skulte spacers):

The tires just barely rub the lower control arms. Just enough that there's a small buildup of rubber. But that comes from doing stuff like in the pic above.
Normal street driving wouldn't be an issue.
