17's on my 85 firebird
The rims I want are 17" American racing torque trusts with a back spacing of 4.57" do I need spacers? And with the tires I want the overall diameter is 25.7"

You don't nee back spacers and a 245 will fit perfect on a 17 x 8" rim.
25.7" or 26.1" tall tire will work.
