285 40 17 on a 5.5 inch backspace
Anyone running this particular combination in the rear?
I know 275's fit with zero clearance issues. Are the 285's no problem?
I really don't want to get into hammering.

need the rest of the wheel specs, without them 5.5" of BS is meaningless.
a 285 will fit though, on a properly spec'd wheel

they're iroc replicas widened from 17x8 to 17x9.5. I have a 1/2" spacer. So 4.5 inch stock bs becomes 6 inch backspace with the widening. With the spacer, it becomes 5.5 inch.

they should fit fine as they are, if anything i would say a 1/4 spacer. Bolt them up and see what happens. Might have to do a little hammering possibly, but who knows.
