How to polish up the wheels?
So i'm only 19, I don't have tons of knowledge about these cars. But I have recently bought a beautiful 89 Firebird Formula and I must say that I absolutely love the car. I bought the original wheels with the car (the previous owner had American Racing Wheels put on it) but they seem to be weathered quite a bit. I am very fond of the wheels already on the car but once the tires wear down on them i plan to put the original wheels back on. But when i look at the originals it seems as though there is a clear coat over the aluminum that is scratched up and there is not actually any damage to the metal. Could anyone who has any idea what i'm talking about give me some help? I would love to get these looking nice.

they are cleared. If the clear is shot, you need to strip it off, repolish the wheel and either seal it, or have it re cleared to keep them from oxidizing.
