Anybody ever put 4th gen 17x11 wheels on the back of a 3rd gen?

I've been thinking about putting a set of welds on my 02 T/A and if I do I'm wondering if I could get my Torque Thrust IIs off of it and put them on my Iroc. I know I'll need the Hawks spacers or a 4th gen rear which I'm considering but I'm wonering if that wide of a rim/tire will fit under it. The tires are 315/35/17s.

It should. I have 295/30/19 vette rims on my iroc and fits fine. My 99 TA 17x11's I will put on to test fit the 315's but they are about .75" wider than the 295's, so thats .375 per side. I have enough room in my wheel well to fit that but its getting tight up in the front of the well. I had to hammer it in pretty good to clear the 295's but they could come out with some spacer another 1/4" or so but I like where they are at.

Guys have done 17x11's alot. Just need to space them right

I bought these ZR1 replicas 17x9.5 and 17x11 275/40/17 and 315/35/17 from a guy who had them on a metallic blue 85-92 z-28 and all he used was spacers. So yes they will fit, these were 50mm offset front and rear.

I believe he used 2" spacers but not sure. Sorry thos only pictures I got from him they are now on my 90 vette. Got them for 1K supposedly he bought the rims new and had them custom powder coated and then new tires mounted and put about a 100 miles on them and then I bought them.
