Wheel help!

I am trying to find a set of wheels for my 92 rs. I have read a lot of the threads and just seem to get myself more aggravated. I have never been good at finding rims with the right fitment. That is where I am hoping you all can help. I would like to run 18's staggered fitment would be fine. I would like to have a deep lip in the rear and not as deep up front. I like the mesh style and the five star look. So if you have some suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I do not mind running adapters but like the tucked look. Thanks in advance.

Re: Wheel help!

Look in the best wheel thread, if you see them on the cars, they most likely fit without much modification. Usually the person posts up what it took to get them to fit.

You basically described the wheels I have. XXR 526s. 18" staggered, deep lip, not as deep in the front. They fit with bolt-on spacers in the front only. I recommend purchasing wheel hubs from 87350IROC. Here is the thread for the hubs that allow you to run the correct bolt pattern.

And a couple pictures of the wheels on my car.

Re: Wheel help!

As you can easily fit a 9.5" wheel all around, you should go for those - much better handling on a nose heavy car than a staggered wheel package.

Re: Wheel help!

The XXR 526 wheels have two bolt patters....one is BMW and one is the GM. I don't see why alternate hubs would be needed.

I could be wrong.....won't be the first time!

Re: Wheel help!

What's your budget? That will decide where to start looking. You can get wheels from $100-$1000 per wheel.

Re: Wheel help!

I would be willing to spend up to $2500 for a nice set of wheels.

Re: Wheel help!

I am looking at a set of KMC701's 18x9 in the rear and 17x8 in the front. I would go with a 9" all the way around but I don't think that having a deep dish rim on front and back looks right.

Xxr's have BMW and 114.## bolt patterns. BMW is close but not exact. Alternate hubs would allow you to run BMW and gm wheels.

Your wheels are 5x120mm vs the GM bolt pattern 5x4.75".

For $2500 you can get into just about any quality 2 piece welded wheel. That leaves your options wide open!
