Re: My new wheels. 17x9 & 17x10 OG San (cross-lace style)
I'll have some pics up this evening.
I read that if you use 1/4in spacer its okay not to install xtended wheels studs. The one recomended by the OP is 5/16.
I'm gonna try & use a 1/4in.
I dont have anything against extended wheels studs, I just dont have time to get it done this wk. I'm going to that MHTG meet in colorado & I have to leave friday 4a!
To OP:
Did you use 5/16 to get a desired look? Or will they not fit properly with anything less?

You should be fine with using a 1/4" spacer.
If the OP (original poster) only had 1/16" of clearance with the 5/16" spacer, he has problems.
The only clearance item on the front with these wheels is the end of the tie rod. I know with 18" rims the tie rod end fits inside the wheel, not sure about 17s.

1st: These wheels look fabulous!
2nd: I will probably end up buying them if wobble nuts will remedy the issue with the difference in our bolt pattern and theirs.
3rd: Why is it so hard to get a company to make these mesh wheels in 18s? Just make the darn things! Is the market that small for these in 18s? I mean damn!

there are 18" versions out there and larger but they are going to be 2 piece wheels and are going to cost at least $1000 per wheel , that's why you don't see them lol , rotiform is one company that I know off the top of my head I'm sure there are others

3rd gen wheels have a very specific offset and when you start talking 9.5" wheels, they don't fit much else. So you are almost automatically talking multi-piece wheels that are going to start at $750/each and up.
Yes, the market is tiny for $750/each 18" x 9.5" wheels in a mesh pattern to fit the 3rd gen applications.

Problem is that you have to do a lot of engineering to make mesh wheels work - forged or cast - or if you CNC them it takes a lot more machine time to cut them compared to a 5 spoke wheel of the same diameter.

But if you can make them at will from different hoops and sections like a 3pc wheel is made, then you can make them as ordered. Of course that type of manufacturing is super expensive and is based on convenience, not volume.

Here is another since I could only put 3 in that post. This one is expensive too. I think almost 3k for 4. They offer our bolt pattern on the wheels though, if I read their info correctly. These come in 19" only by SSR wheels.
By the way I'm itching to see these on a GTA. Is there two guys now with birds waiting to mount the OG wheels on them?

Re: My new wheels. 17x9 & 17x10 OG San (cross-lace style)
so heres my question people keep talking about the spacer but if my math serves me right a 9 inch wheel with 10mm offset should be around 5.325 backspacing. should take much for a spacer on front or rear correct?
downshift which wheel size and offset did you go with because you car looks great.

You can run more backspacing than that but depends on a number of things like how much you want to tuck or be flush with fender also rim size and design to include rim specs as there some limitation like front hub etc and among other things also if you want to do inner fender work Also plays a part

If they did stop, that really sucks. I was thinking of these when I replace my tires since I don't think I'll be able to afford Rotiform LHRs any time soon.
