I just purchased an 89 IROC with disc brakes on the back, it does not have the wheel spacers. I have an 87 IROC that has the spacers, it is equipped with drums on the rear. Were the spacers only necessary for the rear drum brake setup? I have heard the spacers were for offset, as well as that they were merely to keep the wheels from sticking to the drums...... Don't know if I need them or not. Any info would be helpful, thank you!

 

I have them on my 9-bolt with PBRs.

 

They only left the factory on the drum brake cars.
