Re: Looking to buy a new set

My brother works at tire rack and they have some tires that are on sale because they are getting older! I'm not sure what kind they were but I know they were like 120 a piece

Re: Looking to buy a new set

15in rims are not road race rims, if anything the only thing performance oriented about them is if they were mounted with slicks even that sucks since they are only 8in wide.

17x9in would be recommended for road race/cruising

Re: Looking to buy a new set

these rims are actually 15x7. I just bought some mickey thompson sportsman radials for mine. I am not serious about going aroudn corners. but you have to be careful how big of a tire you go. I'd run no bigger than a 255/60/15 on them. Right now I have 225/65/15's I used to run 235/60/15's. But again I've never been to big on road racing but id imagine a fatter rim and a tire with less sidewall would be better so you might wanna get some rims designed for that reason.

Here’s a link showing what’s basically your largest/widest radial will be with a 7x15in wheel.= http://www.summitracing.com/search/d...size/255-60-15
I would not go any wider then 255/60r15s on a 7in. wheel.
None of those tires are road race tires but you can mount the Mickey Thompson Street drag radials in 255/60r15 in the rear and the Mickey Thompson Sportsman’s in the front in 235/60r15s.(That tire size combo. is my very favorite and I would not run anything else.)
That setup should get you off the line quickly.
If you just want a nice all season tire than run the BF-Goodrich Radial T/As or Cooper Cobras in those same sizes.
I chose the Cooper Cobras for my street car/DD =

I read through the "91" Camaro Tech. info. and "if"your still stock than you have the 3.23 ratio but there is no mention of a Posi. unit. Do you have a posi ?
