What should the minimum rear clearance be?

i have a 4th gen rear and 10.5" y2k wheels. i would like to know what the minimum clearance should be between the wheel well and wheel. and no, 4th gen rear + 4th gen wheel type doesnt automatically = no spacer.

At least 1/2". Then check often and see if it rubs and hammer accordingly.

I think this is about right. A half inch is a good place to start. Especially in the 3:00 to 5:00 range on the rear inner fender well area.
