255R6015 Front and 275R6015 Rear How To

Just a note for wheel and tire options on our third gens.
Was going nuts trying to figure out what to do for wheels and tires.

I kept the stock '91 5 spoke RS color match rims. The 255's on the front require no modification, I had a 2'' band added to the rear wheels by Weldcraft Wheels in Livonia MI. to make the rears @9". I added billet 1" wheel adapters to my rear studs (I have Drums on the rear).

The wheels and tires look great, the rears fit perfectly with no rubbing or fender contact .

Others on our site have used Weldcraft Wheels, great job very pleased, no damage to wheel paint etc. $200 per wheel, not sure about shipping as I live 40 mins away from the shop. $50 for the adapters on ebay.

Still looks mostly stock but the wheel and tire combo balance the look of the car.

Hope this helps, wheels and tires are a very personal choice but for $400 I've got wheels that work and are period correct , even though the car isn't! The third pic shows the two beads of weld on either side of the widening band added to the wheel, somewhat hard to see as I placed my phone against the wheel for the pic, I didn't have time to remove the wheel for a pic.

Looks really good! The only down side to the 15" wheels now is that there is such a limited tire size selection.
