Tire Size Question
Have 84 camaro sport coupe, came with 14" wheels. Bought a set of the 16" like came on 91 and 92 rs. I know those cars were eqiuped with 50 or 55 series tires but i want to fill up the fender openings a little more thats the reason for me going to a 16". If i used a 245x60 on the front would it rub the fender lip, not so much worried about scrubbing inner fender well or subframe.

Re: Tire Size Question
A 60 series would be too tall for the front. That would be a 28" tire, which is almost the limit for what you can fit in the back, much less the front. I would not do it.

I have 225/60 r16s on 16x8(I think) rims and they didnt rub until I put 1 inch spacers on. I don't know the backspacing though. If its just me in the car they don't rub the back fender lip, with a passenger they do rub on big bumps though. Fronts don't rub unless I go full travel. I am sure the fronts will rub more with brand new tires though.

Re: Tire Size Question
First, 16" tires are extremely scarce in general, didn't see anything in 245-60-16 on any major tire distributor's website. But if they were available, they would be truck tires at 28" tall.
Second, if you did get a 245-60-16 tires, your car would sit 1" higher and have the sidewall of a factory sized 14" tire, killing any handling aspirations you have for your car, not to mention the balloon-like sidewalls.
Third, you are overlooking the obvious: lowering your car. Just lowering the car 1" will give the illusion of the tires filling up the wheel wells much more. Then you can run 245-50-16 or 225-55-16 tires and get some really great handling too.
